Necessities: Güs Passport Folio

Stay über organized and super stylish with this week's JG Black Book of Travel Necessity on the Black Blog of Travel. PassportFolioInt

True travelers know just how important it is to stay organized in the airport. The Güs Passport Folio will do just that...and earn you a few hundred style points too. We picked this pic because it shows how Güs has got your back from A to E: A's for your passport. B's for your credit cards, debit cards, ID cards and V cards. Cash and receipts go in C. Put your tickets in D.  And E reorganizes l-o-s-t into s-l-o-t for your SIM chips. A travel Necessity? Mmhmm.

Photo Friday: Bartender Series XI

It's been a while since we've exploited our traditional Bartender Friday (the event where we start gulping...we mean...sipping adult beverages on Friday at noon). But today our friends at Grace Bay Club in Providenciales, Turks & Caicos are making it just so very easy.

RumPunchRUM PUNCH

INGREDIENTS:

• 6oz Pineapple Juice
• 3oz Orange Juice
• ½ oz Maraschino Syrup
• 1oz Bambarra Gold Rum
• 1oz Myers Rum (to float)

METHOD OF PREPARATION:

• Combine the fruit juice, syrup and the rum.

• Slowly pour a dash of grenadine in the glass to give the rum punch dual color.

• Float the Myer’s Rum on top.

• Garnish with a pineapple, pineapple leaf and a maraschino cherry.

Forget Not Fouquet's: Luxury Hotel in Paris, Part 2

Just before the holidays, Eva Perry, the Global Group's Director of Industry Relations and Account Specialist for the Black Book Collection's North American and European partners, visited Hotel Fouquet's Barriere and it was a trip she'll never forget. EvaFouquetsEva pictured left
The food and drink at Hotel Fouquet's Barriere were ridiculous. I learned that the bartender at the hotel's Le Lucien was recently awarded Best Bartender in France and we weren't surprised when we tasted his signature drink made with lychee and pomegranate. (The other ingredients were top secret.) After that, we were encouraged to try the Lobster Tagliatelle. With a light, creamy sauce, it was the perfect cap to a day of shopping and sightseeing.

It was when we dined in the Fouquet's Restaurant that we understood Hotel Fouquet's Barriere's role as a Parisian institution. The restaurant's atmosphere glowed with elegance and nostalgia – the walls hung with black and white portraits of the rich and famous at their favorite tables throughout the restaurant. I felt like I was part of the hotel's century-long history and with the exquisite French service, like part of its celebrity as well. I definitely recommend the Lobster Bisque with Wild Mushroom Raviolis and the Steak Tartare. SpaFouquetsThe Spa at Hotel Fouquet's Barriere
And the spa! Somehow the spa at Hotel Fouquet's Barriere exudes pure serenity without pretense from the oils and massage to the water therapies and steam room. The currents and pressure in the Aqua slimming trail are an excellent cure for tired legs and feet and the spa is available to guests at any time – not just during appointments. After spoiling myself in the spa, I took to one of my favorite pastimes: people watching. From my window, I had the perfect view of holiday shoppers, vacationing families and romantic couples. And the holiday décor along the Champs-Elysees made for a spectacular sight. The hotel too has its own holiday light show in the inner courtyard. What better way to experience Paris?

Hotel Fouquet's Barriere gifted me with the fragrance "Le Jardin sur de Nil" and everytime I use it, I remember my trip to Paris. One more reason I'll never forget it.

Catch up with Part 1 of Eva's Parisian experience!
