Recently, JG Black Book Sales and PR team members Greg Santulli and Erin McKeon returned from visiting our new partner in paradise, Cambodia's Song Saa Private Island . Today and tomorrow, follow along as they share their unanimous concensus as to why this dazzling destination warrants continual return:
He says...
Song Saa is quite literally a slice of paradise. I was there when it was fully booked, but felt like I had the place all to myself. Even though the resort consists of two small islands connected by a footbridge, both of which you can walk across in minutes, there are still plenty of amenities. Aside from the over-water restaurants, ocean view gym, and spa villa, Song Saa offers a wide variety of outdoor activities from hiking to windsurfing. Some off-island activities include exploring the mangroves and pristine 5-mile beach of Koh Rong, an island set as Song Saa’s backdrop. Koh Rong is also home to the Prek Svay fishing village, which I had the pleasure of visiting and learning about Song Saa’s active role in supporting and sustaining this 500+ person village. One highlight of my trip was the people I encountered. From the staff at Song Saa to the villagers in Siem Reap, everyone seemed so genuinely happy. Even the people living off of what Americans would consider ‘nothing,’ in corrugated steel shacks farming nothing but rice, had the biggest smiles on their faces.
I will miss the simplicity of the Cambodian lifestyle, the $2 tuk-tuk rides, and the natural beauty of a country oozing with warm hospitality. I can't wait to return!
Stay tuned for Erin's take on Song Saa and its surroundings tomorrow on the Black Blog of Travel!

I agree, once you get going in the kitchen it's hard to stop.
