In the midst of the Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters, the people of Monaco, along with the folks at JG Black Book, are gearing up to celebrate another major event.

After oggling at Djokovic and Murray for days, today we're diverting our attention to the haute-couture models of Karl Lagerfeld's new Hôtel Métropole masterpiece. An 18-panel glass mural surrounding the hotel's pool and Joël Robuchon restaurant, Odyssey is an elegant environment which fuses the best of gastronomy, art, fashion, and leisure. Featuring highest paid model, Batista Giabiconi, amongst others, Lagerfeld's contemporary version of Ulysses' journey, as described by Homer, is an exquisitely chic compliment to the pool, restaurant, and cocktail bar's atmosphere of luxury. This Photo Friday, we at JG Black Book are excited to announce the next best thing to wash onto the shores of Monte-Carlo after, well...Grace Kelly!

A marriage of the crème de la crème of travel, fashion, and art, of ancient and contemporary, visionary Karl Lagerfeld plans to unveil his latest masterpiece this March: the makeover of Hotel Metropole Monte-Carlo's exterior. Creative director for Chanel, acclaimed fashion designer, and Paris-based photographer, Lagerfeld will use his images of haute-couture models sporting his designs in a series reenacting 'Ulysees Journey Around the Mediteranean Sea.' Etched onto backlit panels encompassing the hotel's pool, gardens, terrace, and new Joel Robuchon restauraunt, the installation is anticipatedto add to the hotel a level of luxury unimaginable to even Monaco's royalty.

Here at JG Black Book, we love the fast-paced nature of life in New York City. This summer however, we look forward to escaping to the elegant and luxurious Hamptons estate of our partner, Topping Rose House.  Newly renovated and beautifully restored, the historic hotel seamlessly blends contemporary and traditional design elements.  

We're sure that when the doors at Topping Rose House officially open in May, there will be a steady stream of fellow city-dwellers looking forward to a relaxing country getaway.
